The REAL Cheat Code to health
Juice cleanses, detox wraps, 5 minute-ab workouts, waist trainers, cayenne pepper shots....I have heard it all and know people who have done it all. None of these "magical pills" have ever given anyone the physique they were looking for. Instead it gave them a day on the toilet, dehydration, broken ribs, a headache and massive disappointment.
Honestly the health and fitness world is full of quick fixes (also known as broken promises.) It is hard to fish out the real from the fake because the marketing is so good. It pulls you in and convinces you that this is what you have been missing. This is it! This is what will make that stubborn belly fat go away! No nutrition adjustments required! You just keep doing you, take this supplement and voila (means "there it is" in French.) How could you not think this is the answer? You have tried everything else, nothing has worked so this must be the answer. Well, let me be the one to disappoint you; this is what marketing is supposed to do. Good marketing is supposed to pull on your heart strings, toy with your emotions and make you pull the trigger to buy their product. A notification ding from Shopify means another product sold and their marketing was a success.

Now, I understand I am not saying that all these products, quick fixes, supplements etc don't help. Many of them can be used as tools. Except maybe we skip the waist trainer? There is no need to be walking around with broken ribs. From what I understand it's painful, hurts to breath, cough and laugh.
There is only one thing that is going to give you the results you want. Most people do not want to hear it because unfortunately it is not glamorous. If anything it is tedious and boring. It requires patience and repetition. It requires time and commitment. The real cheat code to health and fitness is CONSISTENCY. Consistency is the only thing that stands the test of time. Having the health and/or physique you want requires consistently moving your body, consistently paying attention to your nutrition and recovery. The person you admire at the gym didn't get that body overnight . They have been working out for years. That person who you see sprinting past your house everyday has been doing that run for months and probably started off a lot slower than that. Seriously, don't believe me? Want to be shocked? Next time you're at the gym admiring someones muscles go ask them how long they have been working out for. Next time you see that runner stop them quickly and ask them. You will be floored by their answers.
The next time you purchase a service or product ask yourself "is this a magic pill or a tool? Is this something I can use to help me be consistent or is it promising me something over night?" If it promises you overnight success, save yourself the heartache and skip it. Consistency is key. It takes time and dedication. It takes a daily reminder of your "why" to keep going. Don't allow a glamorous broken promise or a shiny orange carrot to derail you and throw away the real key.
Well, until next time....Stay healthy. Stay Hydrated. Stay Strong.
Side Note: Has anyone tried Ryze Coffee? If so, does it taste good or does it taste like dirt? Their marketing has me convinced I am going to look 10 years younger, have the energy I did in my 20s and be a complete bombshell. lol.
