Do you only have 15-20 minutes to workout?
Maybe you feel this isn’t enough time; so you say “why bother” and don’t workout at all. Now:
❌You lack the energy to get through the day
❌You feel guilty that you didn’t workout
❌Since you missed a workout, you feel the day is in the trash; so you eat like garbage
❌You feel stressed and anxious
❌You lose a little confidence in yourself
❌You lose motivation
Listen, whether it is or 5 minutes, 10 minutes, a lap around your office building or taking the stairs instead of the elevator:
ANY MOVEMENT IS BETTER THAN NO MOVEMENT!
When you are short on time, your best bet is to probably do a circuit workout. A circuit workout means doing one set of an exercise and then doing one set of the next. When you have completed one set of all the exercises in the circuit, you start again from the top. This gives you the option to do a full body workout and allows you to go from one exercise to the next with little to no break in between.
Here is a quick guide to put together a workout that is short and sweet but sure to make you sweat!
Pick your exercises (5) and do them in the order listed below:
✅Lower body multi-joint
(Squat, lunge, Step-up, leg press, etc)
✅Upper body push multi-joint
(chest press, overhead press, etc)
✅Lower body multi-joint
(Squat, lunge, Step-up, leg press, etc)
✅Upper body pull multi-joint
(Row, lat pulldown, facepull, etc)
✅Full body/ lower-upper body combo
(Squat with press, ball slams, hip bridge with chest press etc)
Aim for 3 sets of the circuit you have put together.
I recommend doing each exercise for time. When a workout is time based you will know exactly when you will be done. For example if you do 3 sets of your circuit (5 exercises) for 45 seconds each, with a 15 seconds break in between and a minute in between sets your workout will take a total of 17 minutes! We all have 17 minutes! Most of us spend more time than that scrolling mindlessly on social media!
When you know exactly how long your workout will take, it is easy to fit in and plan around it. It is also easy to not let “not having enough time” derail you from your progress and goals. Don’t let time be your enemy; make the best of it and use it wisely!
